Stay At Home Lord's Supper/Communion on First Sunday

Everyone,

As additional safety and wisdom must be used during this time in dealing with the Coronavirus, I am providing instructions and Scripture for our second Stay At Home Lord's Supper/Communion for Sunday, June 7th.

Communion Preparation

The Bread – Please take a slice of bread that you have at home and toast it, or you can use crackers if you have them.  If you do not have a toaster then keep the bread plain.  Cut the toasted piece of bread into the number of smaller squares that you need in order to provide a piece of bread to each person in your home, or break the cracker into smaller pieces.  The bread squares or cracker pieces should be small enough to fit in the palm of your hand.  

The Blood – Please take a small cup/glass that you have in your home and pour a small amount of juice, water or milk into each cup/glass for each person in your home who will be partaking in the Lord's Supper/Communion.  

Communion Prayer

Please then have a person in the home lead the group in a prayer to God asking for: (1) blessing on the Bread as the symbol of Jesus’ Body that was beaten, bruised and crucified for each of us, and the Juice as the symbol of Jesus’ Blood that was shed for each of us for the remission of sin; (2) forgiveness for any sins that have been committed by each person with repentance and return back to God, (3) forgiveness for any person who has sinned, hurt, wronged or wounded us in anyway, and (4) blessing, praise, and thankfulness for the opportunity to partake in the symbols of Jesus’ Body – the Bread and Jesus’ Shed Blood – The Juice at this time.

Communion Scripture

Please then have a person in the home read Matthew 26:26-29NLT

Matthew 26:26-29NLT   26 As they were eating, Jesus took some bread and blessed it. Then he broke it in pieces and gave it to the disciples, saying, “Take this and eat it, for this is my body.” (Eat the bread here.)  27 And he took a cup of wine and gave thanks to God for it. He gave it to them and said, “Each of you drink from it, 28 for this is my blood, which confirms the covenant between God and his people. It is poured out as a sacrifice to forgive the sins of many. 29 Mark my words—I will not drink wine again until the day I drink it new with you in my Father’s Kingdom.” 

(Drink the juice here.) Amen!

Rejoice with everyone in your home and give God praise, honor and glory for Jesus Christ and the opportunity to have Communion.  Close your Communion by playing a praise song and singing together to God!  Amen.
